The purposes of the society are:

  1. To establish and conduct a non-profit organization to search for and rescue, when requested, lost or injured persons, primarily in the vicinity of Squamish, British Columbia.
  2. To secure and maintain equipment for such purposes.
  3. To promote and effect education in outdoor safety and survival for its members and the community.
  4. To ensure the care, education and general emergency preparedness for the Squamish area.
  5. To provide emergency social services for: i) people in need following an emergency in this community, ii) the people evacuated to this community from other disaster areas, iii) for disaster relief workers.
  6. To act as a resource and support group for all first responders in any local emergency.
  7. To conduct activities that will fund the society in carrying out its purposes.
  8. To cooperate with other organizations with similar purposes.
