15 August 2008
3 members responded to rescue an individual on a trail in Cheakamus Canyon who was reported to be in medical distress. Due to the location and condition of the subject, HETS was required. Once the subject was extricated he was transferred to BCAS for medical attention.
14 August 2008
10 members were called out to search for 4 hikers that were lost on the Cheekeye River. The subjects were located in good condition and escorted back t their campsite.
12 August 2008
7 SAR members responded to rescue a person over an embankment in the area of Ashley River. The area was not accessible by vehicle and the subject was airlifted out by helicopter and transported to hospital.

14 SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker from a shelter in Garibaldi Park at Elfin Lakes. The hiker was airlifted out and turned over to BCAS for transport to hospital.

10 SAR members were called out to rescue an injured female on the Pet Gill Lake Trail. The subject was brought out of the area by helicopter and transported to hospital by BCAS.

16 SAR members responded to rescue an injured male that suffered a fall at Lewis Lake. Subject was airlifted out and turned over to BCAS.

SAR members responded to a sinking boat call. No subjects in boat, members secured the boat.

SAR members were tasked to assist with helicopter safety during the Sea to Sky Highway closure caused by the rock slide.

3 Squamish SAR responded to locate a missing Park Ranger in the Elfin Lakes area. SAR team located the missing ranger and brought him back to safety.

4 Squamish SAR responded to a report of a climber in distress on the Squamish Chief. Upon arrival they found two climbers making their way up the rock face and not in need of assistance.

14 Squamish SAR responded to rescue an injured hiker from the Squamish Chief. Subject was assisted out of the area by SAR volunteers and turned over to BCAS for transport to hospital.

4 SAR members assisted Pemberton SAR in a mutual aid call for a missing person

3 Squamish SAR responded to rescue an injured climber on the Chief. Squamish SAR was stood down as the subject and guide extricated themselves and walked to the base of the mountain.

20 SAR members responded to assist BCAS with the rescue of a male snowmobiling down an embankment at Brohm Ridge. A helicopter was utilized to transport SAR members in and a second helicopter, equipped to stretcher carry, was used to retrieve the individual.

12 Lions Bay, 7 Coquitlam, 8 North Shore, and 6 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker in The Lions. HETS was utilized to extract the individual. The individual and his two friends were transported out of the area by the SAR team.

3 SAR members responded to a missing 10 year old boy. SAR was stood down prior to leaving the hall as the RCMP reported that the boy was located alive and well.

Squamish SAR was called out to recover a body near Darrell Bay. It was determined to be that of the male missing from the Klahanie Inn Campground area since 30 April 2008.

14 Whistler SAR members and 1 Squamish SAR member responded to rescue and injured/trapped performed a rope rescue 8 metres down a crevasse to help a 26 year old female who had fallen in the crevasse. The hiker was transported via helicopter back to Whister for assessment.

3 Squamish SAR Member responded to search for a despondent male in the Klahanie Inn Campground. SAR team searched all areas of interest to RCMP and were stood down when nothing was found.
19-20 April 2008
22 Sar and coast guard members responded to search for a male who had gone off the dike on his ATV and was last seen floating down the Squamish River. The subject was recovered from the river deceased and turned over to the coroner.

11 SAR members responded for a medical rescue of a subject on the back side of Garibaldi Lakes. Members flew the subject out to the hospital for treatment.
23-24 March 2008
15 SAR members responded to search for a missing hiker in the Rubble Creek area just north of Squamish. The hiker was found deceased in the creek, recovered and turned over to the coroner.

10 SAR members responded to search for 2 overdue hikers on the Squamish Chief area. SAR members located the subjects and brought them down safely.

13 Squamish SAR members responded to search for a missing female in the vicinity of the University of Squamish. SAR members located the female cold and wet, but otherwise in good condition. The subject was turned over to the RCMP who transported the subject home.
25 February 2008
5 SAR members responded with a boat to rescue a male threatening to jump at the woodfiber ferry slip. On arrival it was determined that the subject was already deceased. SAR members remained on scene to await the arrival of the Coroner.

8 Squamish SAR members responded to search for a female missing from the Porteau Cove area. The subject was located deceased and was recovered at the Coroner's request.

5 Squamish SAR members responded to retrieve an injured male on Paul Ridge near Squamish. The individual was recovered by helicopter and transferred to BCAS.
